Board of Directors

Mark A. LeDoux, J.D., CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors, founded Natural Alternatives International (NAI) in 1980 and is considered a highly regarded leader and spokesperson for the nutritional supplements industry. As Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Council for Responsible Nutrition (CRN), Mr. LeDoux represents NAI’s ongoing commitment to industry and government affairs, adherence to a strong code of ethics, and continuing support in the legislative, regulatory and public affairs arenas. A graduate of the Thomas Jefferson School of Law, Mr. LeDoux received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated with honors. He is also a graduate of Stanford University’s Program for Small Business Executives.

Joe E. Davis, Director, brings over 35 years experience in finance, operations and corporate governance to NAI’s Board. Mr. Davis also currently holds directorships for American Funds Insurance Series; American Funds Target Date Retirement Series, Inc; and Anworth Mortgage Securities, Inc.; each a publicly traded company. Mr. Davis previously served as Chairman of the Board of Linear Corporation; President and CEO of BMC Industries, Inc.; President and CEO of National Health Enterprises, Inc.; and held directorships for Wilshire Technologies, Inc. and BMC Industries. Mr. Davis has an MBA from Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and earned a B.S. in Chemistry from the University of Texas.

Lee G. Weldon, Director, brings to NAI over 35 years of experience in the nutritional products industry. Mr. Weldon served as President of Natures Apothecary, Inc. and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Kal Healthway, Inc., a food supplement distributor. Mr. Weldon graduated from the University of California at Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He became a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization in 1982 and a graduate member in 1990. Mr. Weldon served in the United States Naval Air Detachment in Newfoundland and Iceland.

Alan J. Lane, Director, brings to NAI over 28 years of corporate and financial institution leadership experience. Mr. Lane is currently President and Chief Executive Officer of Silvergate Bank, a subsidiary of Silvergate Capital Corporation. In addition, Mr. Lane is President of Silvergate Capital Corporation and a member of the boards of directors of both companies. Mr. Lane was most recently Executive Chairman of Professional Business Bank and its parent company, Belvedere SoCal. He has as served as Vice-Chairman and CEO of Financial Data Solutions, Inc.; Director, President and COO of Southwest Community Bancorp; Director of Southwest Community Bank; and President and CEO of Business Bank of California. Mr. Lane earned his B.A. in Economics from San Diego State University.

Alan G. Dunn, Director, is Founder and President of GDI Consulting & Training Company (“GDI”) and a highly respected specialist in improving cost control and productivity for manufacturers. GDI's clients include Johnson & Johnson, Amgen, Baxter and many other Fortune 500 companies, as well as the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy and other U.S. government agencies. For years Mr. Dunn has been associated with the California Institute of Technology having taught a renowned set of courses in Industrial Process Improvement at the Industrial Relations Center. Prior to founding GDI, Mr. Dunn was Vice President at Gemini Management Consulting and a Partner at Coopers & Lybrand. Mr. Dunn presently serves on the Board of Directors for Idaho Asphalt Supply Company and was formerly a director for TMI Integrated Systems, Air Logistics Corporation, R.W. Lyall Company and Tomorrow’s Morning, Inc. Mr. Dunn holds a B.S. in Business Management from California State University, Fullerton.
